Trappist beer is among the most revered in the world — and for good reason. Brewed within the walls of Trappist monasteries by or under the supervision of monks, authentic Trappist beer carries the "Authentic Trappist Product" hexagonal logo and must meet strict criteria.

There are only a handful of recognised Trappist breweries in the world, with the most celebrated found in Belgium — including Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westvleteren, and Westmalle.

These are complex, bottle-conditioned ales that range from golden Tripels with their dry, spicy warmth to rich, dark Quadrupels with flavours of dried fruit, caramel, and dark sugar.
